Dear Sirs
Following, our recent A G M [Multi Section], a discussion was held
regarding the World Championship format and some suggestions where made
which we think can improve the championships for all of the competitors,
especially now that there will also be the Offshore class running, so now
there will be even less time available. Also the fact that the
championships run for 13 days and the fact that most people onlvy get 14
days holiday, people are having to take extra leave from there place of
work, and while at the championships they are not getting time to take a
relaxing holiday with there familles with the way the format is run at the
moment.
We sucggest that FSR.H and Offshore, should run one week, and that FSR.V
should be run on another week, keeping the two classes separated so that
the lake and practice lakes can be used at at all times by the classes
concerned.
If this is an acceptable idea we propose that each class could be
increased to accept 5 entries per class per Nation, this would give rnore
than enough people to be at both opening and closing ceremonies, while
also giving more people a chance to attend the World Championships on
behalf of there country.
This letter is being hand delivered by Mr. Ian Folkson of whom you all
know, and if you have any queries Ian has said he will be more than happy
to answer them on our behalf.
We hope you find time to look at our ideas and perhaps you can see what
other countries think to them.
Yours Sincerely
Steve Drew
