Proposals for NAVIGA rule changes by
the Electric Racing Section of the UK MPBA

05/03/2006

Dear Michael Dahm
We have been thinking about the question of the speed of the boats from last year, along with the new cells this year. In this regard, we have put together a few of our ideas for NAVIGA to have a look at.

 ECO CLASSES

1. Change the number of cells in the Eco Standard & Eco Expert to 6 cells
2. Keep the weight of the boats at 1kg
3. Introduce Eco Start as a NAVIGA class
4. Introduce mini eco as a NAVIGA class
5. Separate the E classes from the V classes
6. Have a separate Championship for the Oval and eco classes
(Have a Short Course Championships for Eco Standard, Eco Expert, Eco Expert Team, Eco Start, F1E and F3E) This would make it possible for countries with smaller venues to hold the Championships. Such as Belgium, Netherlands, England etc.

MONO & HYDRO CLASSES

1. Change the number of cells to 6 for MONO 1 and HYDRO 1
2. Leave MONO 2 and HYDRO 2 as they are with 12 cells
3. Cancel MONO 3 & HYDRO 3 as these classes are now very dangerous, our insurers will soon be unable to insure these classes for us
4. Have a separate CHAMPIONSHIP for the Oval (The Long Course Championship Mono 1, Mono 2, Hydro 1, Hydro 2, S7, S14 and FSRE)
5. Change FSRE to 12 cells and change duration to 6 minutes and call it FSRE Expert
6. Introduce FSRE Standard 12 cells and 8 minutes with brushed motors
The most important thing for us in the UK is the NAVIGA rulebook in English, and an English version of the racing forms.
I hope that some of these ideas are of some use, if not at least a talking point.
Regards
Stephen Hart
