| To: NAVIGA Att: Peter Schaft Oslo, July 15th 2003 APPLICATION FOR HOSTING OF THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2006 FOR FSR CLASSESThe Norwegian Model Power Boat Association, Norges Model Speed Bat Forbund (NMSBF), hereby applies for hosting of the World Championship 2006 (WC-2006) for the FSR-H, FSR-O and FSR-V classes. This is a preliminary application. The complete application with all relevant details will be submitted prior to the Section meeting in Slovenia, August 2004, or earlier if required by NAVIGA. |

The WC-2006 will be held at Strandefjorden Fritidspark at Leira in Norway. | ||
Time: |
The WC-2006 will be held in the period July 30th to August 12th 2006. | ||
Organizers: |
The event will be a co-operation between NMSBF and Strandefjorden Fritidspark c/o Norbert Kuhn. NMSBF will be in charge of all race and competition related issues, and Strandefjorden Fritidspark will be in charge of all accommodation, logistics, facilities, entertainment etc. | ||
Accommodation: |
Accommodation will primarily be at the Strandefjorden Fritidspark. The camp has approx 20 cabins. In addition there are space for tents and trailers within the camp area. Next to Strandefjorden Fritidspark there is a second campsite with additional capabilities incl. 20 cabins and space for tents and trailers. All is within walking distance from the race area. Within approx 15 km there are several hotels with which the organizer will make arrangements. A detailed list of all options for accommodation will be submitted in the final application. | ||
Facilities: |
The race will be held in a sheltered area on the big lake
Strandefjorden. The race site is partly surrounded by land and islands. In the northwest and
south direction there will be breakwater shelters. Please see enclosed map. Just alongside the racetrack there is a 135 m long jetty. Just behind the jetty there will be large tents covering the whole pit area. Next to the jetty there is a restaurant tent where hot food and beverages will be served. Within the camp there will also be a tent capable of housing 1000 - 1200 people for the banquet and other events. |

Access: |
Leira is located in central Norway, approx. 180 km by car
from Oslo. There are daily ferries from Denmark and Germany to Oslo and Larvik. The distance from Larvik is approx 250 km. There are also ferries from several locations in Europe to Gothenburg. From Gothenburg to Leira is approx. 450 km. The shortest ferry to Norway is between Fredrikshavn in Denmark to Larvik in Norway. From Kristiansand to Leira is approx. 500 km. There are ferries from the UK to Bergen at the west coast of Norway. From Bergen to Leira is approx 320 km. The distance by car from Oslo International Airport Gardermoen to Leira is approx 170 km. There is also a local airport with flights to/from Oslo located just a few km from the race site. |

Practice lakes: |
Approx 5 - 10 km from Leira there are several possibilities for practice. The organizer will have retrieve boats at the selected practice locations. | ||
